Story Theme
of Laagi Tujhse Lagan:Laagi Tujhse Lagan is a story of ‘Nakusha’, an unbelievably beautiful young girl in her teen age, born in a poor family living in a Mumbai slum
. Her father Ganpat is a drunkard and hardly earns anything for the survival of his family. Her mother Babi earns their livelihood by doing housemaid jobs. Ganpat use to quarrel with Babi for money to buy country liquor
for him. Babi is scared with the beauty of her daughter Nakusha that someone from the slum might abduct her or inflict irreparable damage to her chastity
out of lust. Eventually, she resorts to an extreme step by masking Nakku’s beauty by applying dark makeup allover her face, hands and feet. She made her so very ugly that no one even liked to look at her. Babi felt satisfied when she noticed people ignoring Nakusha. The serial portrays the hardships
faced by Nakku (Nakusha’s nickname) in the initial episodes when a police inspector, played by Pawan Malhotra, tries to forcefully gain intimacy with Nakku. His lust aggravated when one day the inspector saw Nakku without the darkening makeup. He finally forced Nakku’s family for marrying her. Nakusha refused to marry the inspector and convinced her family to migrate to some other place for evading the forced marriage
. The inspector chased Nakusha and ended up with a fierce fight with the hero of this serial Datta Bhau an underworld don who rescued Nakku from the clutches of the rogue police Inspector
. 
Review:
The serial went on well until Nakusha entered the don’s house. It lost its exclusive class when the serial showed shrewd in-house politics played by Datta Bhau’a three sisters just like any other soap operas
running on Indian television
. This serial has again stagnated for the last 5 - 6 episodes, with the hide and seeks game played by the makers with the eager TV viewers by holding back the moment Nakku exposes her real face and beauty. This is being done by prolonged camera work focusing on faces of the characters, showing slideshows of their close-ups and by replaying old recordings in the name of flashbacks
. I think that Nakku’s secret should not be held back any more and the successive episodes
should be made a bit faster showing at least some complete incidents for the viewers in each episode. This is essential for the makers to keep the TRP at a higher level. The serial is really good to watch…
