ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Trophy: Trophy launched by ICC and that awarded to the winners India appear to be different

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Trophy: Trophy launched by ICC and that awarded to the winners India appear to be different

Two different trophies of ICC World Cup 2011 are there in the news.  The trophy launched by ICC has a different look as compared to the one awarded to the Indian team on winning the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

The difference is quite evident and we may notice some visible features in the awarded trophy that do not conform to those visible on the trophy launched by the ICC authorities well before the commencement of ICC World Cup 2011.

The following features could be noticed that differ between the two versions of the trophy:
  1. The overall luster on the metal portion and the surface of the black base, on the launched version appears to be far more glittering than that of the trophy awarded to the World Cup Winners.
  2. In the awarded version the black base surface appears to have larger area than that on the launched one.
  3. There are many circular logos mounted along the black / dark base on the launched trophy.
  4. The circular logos are missing on the black / dark surface of the base of the awarded trophy.
Following are the images of the two different trophies:
